Panadura Beach

Panadura beach is one of the unearthed and undiscovered beaches in Sri Lanka and an ideal place for those who are seeking to escape the bustling city culture and embrace the tranquillity along with the overwhelming sounds of the waves. With high flowing tides hitting the rugged rocks, the sun setting in the backdrop while spreading hues of yellow everywhere, and the clear blue water spread as far as the eye can see, the Panadura Beach offers a great spot to just sit and soak in the beauty of nature.

Calido Beach

Calido Beach is another beautiful place that you should visit on your trip to Kalutara. The Kalu River, which runs through Kalutara ultimately falls into the sea, resulting in a spot of land between the Kalu River and the sea. The water here comes in gentle waves and is quite shallow giving visitors the opportunity to take a dip in the water.

Rankoth Viharaya

Panadura hails as the town which initiated reawaking of Buddhism during the British colonial era.
Rankoth Viharaya in particular showcases the glory days with 200+ years of paintings inside it and three Buddha statues. The outlook of the temple, in general, is heavily influenced by the then English architecture. Rankoth Viharaya is declared an archaeological site. The Dhamma sala (sermon hall) resembles a church building.

Thudugala Ella Waterfall

Out of 382 Waterfalls in Sri Lanka, Thudugala Ella Waterfalls ranks at 268th position. This has become an attraction of tourism and is visited by large number of tourists. It has become a famous bathing place nearby the ruins of the British estate wrecks. Waterfall’s natural stream pool looks amazing with Ketala plants and the ferns surrounding it. Several migratory and local birds have been witnessed nearby this waterfall.
